Bavarian supervisory authority supports in the fight against ransomware

The Data Protection Authority for the German state of Bavaria (BayLDA) is launching a series of audits of companies. The aim is to counter the wave of ransomware attacks that has swelled in recent months. The authority will aim to examine key areas of security and provide businesses with instructions and recommendations to increase protection.

BayLDA president Michael Will noted that ensuring adequate security measures in IT is one of the mandatory requirements for all companies that process personal data. The audit can indicate what measures small and medium-sized businesses can implement to effectively defend themselves against cyber attacks.
