Japanese fashion retailer Right-on has reported a data breach that may affect 247,600 customers. Data in the areas of names, phone numbers, addresses, dates of birth and gender were leaked as a result of unauthorised access by a third party. Credit card information was not included in the leak. Right-on has pledged to implement measures to strengthen security against unauthorised access and strengthen its data protection threat monitoring system. In addition, the company said it will commission an independent auditor to audit its security system and will work to prevent a similar incident from occurring again, stressing that it will inform customers when new information on the matter becomes available.
