The Turkish data protection supervisory authority (KVKK) reported a large data leak. The infringement concerned Tofisa Tekstil Sanayi ve Ticaret Limited Şirketi. Her clients received messages and phone calls from various ‘law firms’ with information about enforcement proceedings regarding transport receivables that had not been paid by them. The inspection found that the callers obtained personal data from Dolunay Kargo Lojistik Automotive Construction Industry and Trade Limited Company, the data processor for Tofis. The names, surnames, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses of the persons leaked were unlawfully used. The violation covered over 40 thousand people.
