The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) has a new leader

John Edwards has been appointed as the new Information Commissioner. Edwards, who has a background in law, headed the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in New Zealand for more than seven years. His five-year term in the new post will begin on 3 January.
