The proposed legal framework focuses on the specific use of AI and the risks associated with it. The European Commission, which is responsible for the project, proposes to establish a technology-neutral definition of AI in EU law and to establish a classification of AI-based systems with different requirements and obligations adapted to the so-called risk-based approach.<\/p>\n<div>Under the regulation, AI-based systems posing unacceptable risks would be banned. High-risk AI would be allowed, but would have to meet a number of requirements beforehand.
