The Federal Office for the Security of Information Technology (BSI) issued a red security warning on 12 December due to a critical vulnerability found in the Log4j Java library. The script is widely used and the vulnerability can be exploited easily. BSI reports the first cases of breaches due to this issue. As a result, the authority has called for immediate implementation of countermeasures. Detection and response capabilities should be enhanced in the short term through continuous monitoring of applications based on this library.
