On 17 February, the European Commission announced that the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC) had elected its chairman of the governing board. Its duties will be carried out by Pascal Steichen, who has been an advisor on network and information security in the Luxembourg Ministry of Economy since 2002. The ECCC Governing Board officially met for the second time on 16 February, bringing together representatives from member states, the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA). The ECCC will be based in Bucharest and, together with a network of National Coordination Centres, is expected to contribute to strengthening European cybersecurity capabilities, as well as the scientific capacity and competitiveness of EU industry in this field.
