Cybersecurity awareness in the EU

The European Union Agency for Cyber Security (ENISA) has published a report on cyber security awareness. According to the recommendations, EU Member States should take concrete actions to ensure cyber security.
ENISA made a number of recommendations to increase the effectiveness of national awareness efforts, which revolve around four points:
  1. building awareness of cyber security, who it affects and what its main objectives are;
  2. regularly assessing cyber-security trends and challenges by conducting threat analyses and reports;
  3. measuring cyber-security by taking into account the thinking and behaviour patterns of EU citizens;
  4. planning awareness-raising campaigns on cyber-security.
